Mason City, Iowa -- Indian Hills pulled away from host NIACC in the second half of their conference match on Saturday, scoring five times in a dominating final 45 minutes to defeat the Trojans, 6-1.

IHCC got goals from five different players in the final half after season goal-scoring leader Akean Shackleford notched the Warriors' only goal of the opening half.  Shackleford's score, coming in the 9th minute, was assisted by Theodoro Barros di Piero and Reshon Phillip.  It was Schackleford's 15th goal of the season and kept alive his streak of having scored at least one time in each of IHCC's seven matches this fall.

Kalle Kantelinen tied the score at one with a goal in the 30th minute and the game stayed tied 1-1 at the half.

Barros di Piero started the second-half onslaught for the Warriors with a goal just two minutes after halftime.  Phillip, who had three assists on the day, was credited with the assist.

Indian Hills broke away from their 2-1 lead on the strength of four more goals with three of them the first of the season for the players who scored.  Alcides Duarte recorded his first IHCC goal about six minutes after di Piero scored with Phillip and Wilson Barahona assisting on the Duarte score.  Just four minutes later Barahona got a goal of his own, assisted by Rodrigo Pascual and di Piero.  Leandro Oshiro got his initial goal of the season with an assist by Christopher Thorpe, and Nicolas Montiel ended the scoring with his first goal, Oliver Hunt getting the assist.

The win moves the record for No. 11 IHCC to 6-1 and sets the stage for a key matchup with 8th-ranked Iowa Western on Wednesday at 2:00 at the IHCC field.
