MEN'S SOCCER FALLS ON THE ROAD

Peoria, IL – The Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat on the road to No. 13 Illinois Central Community College on Tuesday. The Warriors fall to 6-10-2 overall on the year.

Tuesday's nonconference match served as the regular season finale for the Warriors. Indian Hills opens up postseason play Sunday at Iowa Central Community College as the No. 5 seed.

The Warriors put together another valiant effort against a nationally ranked squad on Tuesday. The loss was the third one-goal loss against a nationally ranked team in its last four ranked matchups, all within the span of 14 days.

Illinois Central tallied a goal in the 36th minute to provide the lone strike of the evening. Freshman goalkeeper Matteo Scarduzio (San Secondo Parmense, Italy/Fabio Bocchialini) stopped seven shots in net for Indian Hills.

Indian Hills will travel to Fort Doge, IA to take on Iowa Central at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Oct. 24 in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer Region XI Tournament. Sunday's match will be played at the Harlan Rogers Sports Complex.
