Lubbock, Texas -- The men's 4x400m relay made program history this past Saturday afternoon at the 2018 NJCAA Indoor National Track & Field Championships hosted by Texas Tech University. The quartet of Brieon Randle, Raykwon McClenny, Chris Kubli and Jovan Parks became Indian Hills track and field's first relay and non-field event to be crowned All-American. Entering the meet, the Warriors were ranked 16th in the event with a school record best time of 3:19.53. The relay demolished their previous best, winning their heat with a new school record time of 3:15.81, finishing 8th overall in the second slowest heat (5 heats total). Each individual ran their fastest relay split of the year: Randle (49.2), McClenny (48.9), Kubli (49.2), Parks (48.3).

The 4x400m relay was not the only school record to go down. Brieon Randle etched his name in the record books, running 48.96 in the men's 400m prelims (23rd overall). This was Randle's best mark of the year by an entire half of a second. Raykwon McClenny had a busy weekend as well. McClenny opened up his national campaign with a 8.39 performance in the 60m hurdle prelims to finish 13th overall. After missing finals in the 60m hurdles by .19 seconds, McClenny doubled back and ran a new school record of 21.76 in the 200m prelims (24th overall).  This time was more than a full second faster than the freshman from Virginia Beach, Virginia had ran in his season debut (January 13th, Sol Butler Classic- 22.92).

In the field events, Bernard McCann III placed 18th in the long jump (6.35m), while Nathan Winters finished 18th in the shot put (14.26m). Chris Kubli represnted the team's middle-distance crew, running 1:59.49 to finish 23rd overall.

The men's and women's teams will now sit idle until their first scheduled outdoor meet on Saturday, March 17th hosted by Central Methodist University.
