THREE-TIME REGION CHAMP EARNS ICCAC HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – A three-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Champion over the weekend, Justin Walden (Miami, FL/North Miami) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Walden helped lead the Warriors to a third-place team finish after winning a pair of individual events to go along with a relay title. Walden claimed the men's 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and was a member of the men's 4x100-meter relay team.

In the 100-meter dash, Walden sprinted to a new personal record of 10.37 to take top honors for the Warriors. The mark was the fourth-fastest time in Indian Hills history.

Walden edged the competition in the men's 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 21.00 seconds which now ranks No. 3 all-time in program history.

In the 4x100m relay, Walden served as the lead off leg that won first-place with a time of 40.49.

Walden becomes the fourth Indian Hills student-athlete to earn ICCAC Outdoor Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors this year.

Walden and the Warriors will now head to the NJCAA National Championships at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson, KS May 19-21.
