Grinnell, Iowa -- Clayton Grainger and Garret Hinson traded first- and second-place finishes in Indian Hills' first two meets of the season and they finished one-two once again for the Warriors in the Les Duke Invitational on Saturday. This time it was Grainger's turn to edge his teammate, beating Hinson by eight seconds with a time of 27:05 over the 8K course in the meet hosted by Grinnell College.
Indian Hills tied with the University of Dubuque with 189 points. Wartburg ran away with the team title with a total of 12 teams entered. Dubuque's Alec Bass ran 24:55 to claim the individual crown.
Zach Hougland was the third runner for IHCC, finishing 37th in 27:53. That was four seconds and two places ahead of Cameron Schroeder.
The Warriors will run at the Brissman-Lundeen Invite in Rock Island, Ill. on Sept. 22.
