Spring Season Begins for IHCC Sports Shooting

Luke

Ft. Dodge, Iowa -- Led by Aaron Reuss, Indian Hills grabbed a fourth-place finish at their initial meet of the spring season on Saturday.  Iowa Central won the meet that they hosted at the Boone Valley Izaak Walton Club.  IHCC had a team score of 439, compared to Iowa Central's 486.

Reuss had an 89 for the meet, one bird in front of teammates Kurtis Doty, Tristan Bakalar and Colton Selvy, who all had 88s.  Luke Schlesselman rounded out the Indian Hills scores with an 86.

IHCC coach Jake Stalzer said his squad was "a bit rusty" in its first meet of the season.  "Weather conditions were not ideal," Stalzer said, "but nothing we couldn't handle.  We didn't have anyone break 90, which needs to happen if we want to be in contention to be in the top three teams.  We will work hard this week at practice and be more prepared for our competition this coming Saturday."

Indian Hills will take part in the Hawkeye Redtails Invitational at the Cedar Falls Gun Club in Cedar Falls Saturday.  It will be the second of three meets IHCC has scheduled for the spring.
