Indian Hills Blanks Seminole State

IH vs. Seminole

Seminole, Oklahoma -- Sophomore Olivia Goodale threw a four-hit shutout, Abby Straight and Lexi Smith homered, and Indian Hills got a signature win on its southern trip, blanking No. 12 Seminole State College, 5-0, on Wednesday.

The Warriors improved their record to 8-1 with two games remaining on their swing through Texas and Oklahoma.

Indian Hills jumped on top with a run in the 3rd inning on Straight's leadoff blast, then tallied three in the 4th and an insurance run in the 6th, courtesy of Smith's round-tripper.  Meanwhile, Goodale silenced the Trojans' bats, allowing only four baserunners.  She fanned four and didn't walk a batter in picking up her 3rd win of the season.

IHCC had 10 hits, including two each by Smith, Cheyanne Bergert, Vanessa Bakley and Taylor DuBois.  The home runs by Straight and Smith were both solo shots -- the 4th already for Straight.

Five different players scored runs and five had RBIs.

The Warriors were slated to wrap up their trip with a pair of games against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa Thursday afternoon.
