IHCC Battles NEO

Straight

Miami, Oklahoma -- Indian Hills, ranked 20th in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, began a challenging road trip with a pair of games at No. 6 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Thursday and the two rated squads split a couple of one-run games in the doubleheader.  Indian Hills got a run in the top of the 6th inning of the opener and that was the difference in a 3-2 victory.  NEO pushed across the game-winner in the bottom of the 7th in game two to prevail, 4-3.

The Warriors got home runs from Lexi Smith and Abby Straight in their win.  Alexis Westercamp doubled home Smith with the other run.  Straight went the distance and got the pitching victory, allowing only four hits and striking out nine.

IHCC was held to five hits in the nightcap with Erin Kuba, Straight, Cheyanne Bergert, Westercamp and Taylor Takushi each getting one.  Straight and Taylor DuBois had the RBIs.  Olivia Goodale pitched a complete game and absorbed the loss.

Next up for the Warriors is a twinbill at Butler (Kans.) College on Friday.
