Indian Hills Gets Two 1-Run Wins at SCC

SCC

West Burlington, Iowa -- Indian Hills stayed a game in back of Iowa Western in the ICCAC standings with a pair of one-run victories against Southeastern CC on Wednesday.  The Warriors pulled out 4-3 and 3-2 decisions against the Blackhawks to set up a key conference doubleheader against the league-leading Reivers this week at home.

Macey Harrington added to her IHCC single-season record with home run number-21 in the 1st inning of the opener.  SCC starting pitcher Ashley Rosado matched that with a solo homer in the bottom of the 1st, her first of two HRs in the game.  IHCC scored twice in the 5th, then pushed across the game-winning run on a Chloe Olson groundout in the 7th.  Alexis Groet overcame a line drive off her hand in the 4th and went the distance in the circle for the Warriors, striking out seven.

IHCC starting pitcher Nina Hendriks pitched out of three bases-loaded jams in game two, stranding the potential tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 7th as the Warriors completed the sweep.  SCC got only one run out of their trio of bases-full opportunities.  Hendriks got a double-play and pop-out in the 7th to preserve the win.

Olson slugged a two-run 1st-inning homer to start the scoring and Jordan Hollon knocked in the game-deciding run with a 4th-inning double.

Indian Hills has won 14 consecutive games and is 31-16 for the spring, 6-2 in the conference.

The IHCC twinbill with Iowa Western will be played on Friday, first game at 2:00.
