2024 NJCAA DI SOFTBALL PRESEASON POLL

Ottumwa, IA – Following the team's 21st all-time trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Softball World Series, the Indian Hills Softball team checked in at No. 14 in the preseason NJCAA DI Softball Preseason poll. The Warriors earned 49 points in the poll, announced Monday afternoon.

The Warriors, who finished 19th in last year's final national ranking before posting an eighth-place finish at the World Series, entered the preseason poll as the highest ranked team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). The preseason rankings feature two teams on the Warriors' schedule in No. 9 Seminole State College (OK) and No. 15 Butler Community College (KS), two squads the Warriors faced off against in last year's NJCAA World Series.

Under first-year head coach Tarah Rayos, the Warriors return nine sophomores from last year's World Series squad, including six NJCAA All-Region 11 selections and NJCAA All-American Julia Kwakernaak (The Hague, Netherlands/Segbroek College).

The defending national champion Florida SouthWestern State College Buccaneers topped the preseason rankings followed by No. 2 Northwest Florida State College, Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (AL), Odessa College (TX), and Grayson College (TX).

Indian Hills is set to open its 2024 campaign on February 16 with the SCC Turf Tournament in Burlington, IA.
