REID NAMED ICCAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Sara Reid (Central City, IA/Central City) led the No. 14 nationally ranked Indian Hills Softball team to its first win of the year on Sunday to earn Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Week honors.

Reid went 5.2 innings in the circle against Rock Valley College (IL) on Sunday to help push the Warriors to a 6-5 victory at the SCC Turf Tournament. In a pair of appearances over the weekend, Reid worked 12.0 innings while striking out 12 batters with just three earned runs allowed.

The lone returning sophomore pitcher for Indian Hills, Reid took the circle on Friday for her season debut and kept the Warriors in contention against Kirkwood Community College, ultimately dropping a 5-2 decision. Reid struck out four batters in 6.1 innings of action while issuing just one walk.

Reid followed up on Sunday against Rock Valley with a dominant performance. The righty kept the Golden Eagles off the board for the first two frames and kept Rock Valley at bay over the next three innings to secure the victory, the sophomore's seventh win of her career. Reid struck out a career-high eight batters in the win.

Reid and the Warriors will now hit the road for a week-long road trip to Tennessee and Alabama for eight games over a five-day span.
