REID EARNS BACK-TO-BACK ICCAC WEEKLY HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Sara Reid (Central City, IA/Central City) earned a second consecutive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Softball Pitcher of the Week honor after a strong showing in the circle for the Indian Hills Softball team last week.

Reid, who was tapped as last week's top pitcher in the ICCAC, made four appearances in the circle last week as the Warriors ventured south to Tennessee and Alabama for an eight-game road trip. Reid helped lead the Warriors to a signature victory over No. 2 Northwest Florida State in Oxford, AL.

Competing at the JUCO Extravaganza, Reid tossed 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to help knock off the No. 2 nationally ranked Raiders, runners-up at last year's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Softball World Series). Reid allowed just one hit over the final 3.1 innings to keep Northwest Florida State off the board as the Warriors took a 5-3 decision at Choccolocco Park.

Reid followed up the next day with another dominant performance. Despite being tagged with the loss, Reid went six innings with allowing an earned run against No. 3 nationally ranked Wallace State Community College (AL). Reid scattered six hits without allowing a walk, but the Lions took the pitcher's duel 1-0.

Reid also posted a strong outing against Georgia Military College, allowing just two earned runs with four strikeouts in five innings of work on the opening day of the three-day event.

On the year, Reid owns a 2-3 record in 32.0 innings of work to go along with a 1.53 earned run average and 25 strikeouts.

The Warriors are back in action this weekend at the Iowa Western Round Robin in Council Bluffs, IA. Indian Hills will take on North Iowa Area Community College and Hutchinson Community College on Friday afternoon with action getting underway at 11:00 AM.

All four games this weekend can be seen live on the Reiver Sports Network.
