An action-packed night of Indian Hills Wrestling opens up the 2023-24 campaign for both the men's and women's programs as the Warriors welcome national power Carl Albert State College (OK) to the Multi-Purpose Building.
WOMEN'S NOTES
The three-time defending national champions, Indian Hills begins its title defense Thursday night against the Vikings of Carl Albert.
- The Warriors enter the year ranked No. 1 in the preseason national rankings while the Vikings checked in at No. 5 in the NJCAA poll.

- Indian Hills boasts 15 individuals in the preseason national rankings, including four top-ranked wrestlers in Dutchess King, Shammilka Miranda Diaz, Yaracely Saenz, and Eliana Bommarito.

- Carl Albert placed nine individuals in the preseason poll, including top-ranked and defending national champion Lexi Miller at 109lbs.
- The Warriors return nine NJCAA All-Americans to its roster from a year ago to go along with three defending individual national champions in King, Diaz, and Bommarito.
- Indian Hills captured the first-ever NJCAA National Invitational Championship last season with 287 team points while Carl Albert placed sixth overall with 81.5 points.
- Prior to the match, the 2023 NJCAA National Champion Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team will be honored with their National Championship Ring ceremony.
- Following the team dual, 2023 NJCAA National Champions Shammilka Miranda Diaz (116lbs) and Lexi Miller (109lbs) will square off for a 'SuperMatch'
MEN'S NOTES
Coming off another top-10 finish at the NJCAA National Championship, the Warriors will open up their 2023-24 campaign against the Vikings.
- Indian Hills placed ninth at last year's NJCAA National Championship in Council Bluffs while the Vikings took 14th overall.
- The Warriors return eight individuals from last year's squad, including national tournament qualifier Peyton Asbury.
- The Vikings return two national tournament qualifiers in Hunter Hill and Emmett Bivens.
- Thursday's matchup will be the first-ever dual between the two nationally ranked programs

Both squads will head to the annual Luther Hill Invitational in Indianola, IA, hosted by Simpson College at the Luther Hill Center. Last season, the Indian Hills men's squad placed 14 different individuals at the invite.
