IHCC Women Now 3-0

Ottumwa -- The Indian Hills women's soccer team remained undefeated and kept its scoreless match streak intact with a 10-0 blanking of Hawkeye CC at the IHCC field on Wednesday. The Warriors took a 2-0 halftime lead against the Redtails, playing their first season of collegiate soccer, then poured it on in the second half, scoring their first goal of the half just three minutes after halftime and adding the next five goals in a ten-minute span in finishing off the rout.

Not only are the Warriors unbeaten after three games for the first time in program history, but they have yet to allow a goal, outscoring their opponents, 24-0.

On Wednesday, it was Taylor Hiatt that got the scoring started, scoring in the 22 minute with an assist f rom Harriet Jones. Ellie Priest added an unassisted goal later in the opening half. For Hiatt it was the first goal in an afternoon in which she had a hat trick.

Laura Hallissey found the back of the net just three minutes into the second half with Jones getting another assist.

Olivia Pargeon scored twice in the second half, matching the number of goals she had in the previous game when Indian Hills blanked Iowa Lakes, 2-0.

Georgia Reece, who had a hat trick in the opening win against Lincoln College, also scored in the second half. Hannah Mitchell and Priest picked up second-half goals as well for IHCC.

Pargeon's first goal started a run of five goals in ten minutes.

Marta Lopez and Emily Sands shared the goalkeeping duties for the Warriors and Lopez had the only save they recorded.

Indian Hills returns to action on Thursday afternoon, hosting MCC-Maple Woods at the IHCC field.
