Undefeated Streak to 4 for IHCC Women

Ottumwa -- Playing on their home pitch for the second day in a row, the Indian Hills women's soccer team showed no signs of fatigue in recording their fourth consecutive win to start the season, whitewashing MCC-Maple Woods, 3-0, on Thursday.

The shutout kept alive the Warriors' impressive early-season success: they have blanked their first four opponents, outscoring those foes, 27-0, on the way to a 4-0 start. Indian Hills' dominance can also be found in the fact they have allowed only 17 shots in four matches.

In their latest win, IHCC got a pair of goals from Hannah Mitchell and one from Harriet Jones along with a stellar performance in goal by Sophie Ledger.

Jones started the scoring in the opening half when her shot ricocheted off the post and past keeper Lauren Blakely into the net.

Mitchell tallied on a breakaway later in the first half to make it 2-0 at intermission. The sophomore's second goal came in the 58th minute when she converted a nice pass from Olivia Pargeon for some IHCC insurance.

Indian Hills goalkeeper Ledger make a couple of outstanding saves in the second half to preserve the shutout.

The Warriors will put their unbeaten record on the line on Sunday afternoon when they play host to St. Louis Community College at 4:00 at the IHCC field.
