Warriors and Lakers Battle to Draw

Women's Soccer Team huddled together strategising before the game.

Ottumwa -- Two overtime periods couldn't determine a winner, so Indian Hills and Iowa Lakes had to settle for a 2-2 tie in their conference opener on Friday at the IHCC soccer field, game one of the three-day Wells Fargo Cup series.

After IHCC's Laura Hallissey scored off a feed from Taylor Hiatt in the 62nd minute to knot the score at 2-all, neither team was able to break the deadlock.

Hallissey's goal was the second of the second half for Indian Hills.  Emma Rosner had evened the game at 1-1 when she found the back of the net in the 58th minute.

Iowa Lakes' Maddy Duncan connected off a rebound just around a minute before Hallissey's tying goal.

The lone score of the opening half came when the Lakers' Tessa Calabria converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute.

Emily Sands stopped four shots in goal for Indian Hills, which outshot Iowa Lakes 26-12.
