Warriors Notch League Win in Minnesota

Rosemount, Minnesota -- Indian Hills bounced back after suffering its first loss of the season earlier in the week to knock off Dakota County Tech on the road, the Warriors winning the conference matchup, 7-3 on Saturday.  The Warriors got goals from seven different playing in upping their season record to 5-1-1.

Ellie Priest, one of four IHCC players who scored their first goal of the season, opened the scoring just four minutes into the first half.  Taylor Hiatt got the first of her three assists on the Priest goal.  Brandi Menephee, who leads the team with nine goals, connected in the 15th minute to make the score 2-0.  Kelcie Loughren assisted on the Menephee score.  Indian Hills built the advantage to 4-0 before Dakota County closed out the first half with its first goal.  Allie Schaefer and Georgia Reece had the IHCC goals, the initial one of the season for both.

Megan McElmeel added to the lead with a goal two minutes into the final half with Molly Kellar and Hiatt getting assists.  Charlyann Pizzarello scored for Indian Hills around a pair of DCT goals, then Maite Montalvo picked up her first goal of the season for IHCC to close out the scoring.  Pizzarello's goal was unassisted and she had the assist on Montalvo's score.

The Warriors outshot the hosts, 41-6.  Goalkeeper Emily Sands made three saves for IHCC.
