Menephee's OT Goal Wins It

IHCC-SFCC WSoc

Ottumwa -- Brandi Menephee's goal with three minutes left in the first overtime allowed Indian Hills to get a 2-1 victory against visiting State Fair CC on Wednesday at the IHCC field.  Menephee's golden goal, her second of the game, was her 11th of the year and pushed the Warriors' overall record to 6-1-1.  It was the third overtime match in eight starts for the Warriors who have won twice and tied once in their OT battles.

After a couple of near-misses at the end of regulation, with the game tied at 1-all, Menephee pushed home the winner after a pass from Taylor Hiatt

Menephee tallied a rebound goal in the first half, scoring after a Molly Kellar attempt went off the crossbar.

State Fair tied the game up when Tiffany Wehmeyer beat IHCC keeper Emily Sands with just over 25 minutes remaining in the second half.

Sands stopped two SFCC shots on goal and the Warriors outshot the Roadrunners, 21-4.

Indian Hills travels to Southwestern Illinois College on Thursday, then returns home to host Northeast (Neb.) on Saturday.
