Hallissey's Goals Help Stop Northeast

WSOC

Ottumwa -- Laura Hallissey scored twice, once in each half, and Indian Hills bounced back from a disappointing non-conference road loss against Southwestern Illinois on Thursday to defeat Northeast (Neb.), 3-0, in league action at the IHCC field on Saturday.

Hallissey didn't waste any time in getting IHCC off to a good start.  Her unassisted goal in the 5th minute provided an early spark to an Indian Hills team that managed only goal against SWIC, that one also scored by Hallissey.

Ten minutes after the opening goal Megan McElmeel doubled the lead for Indian Hills against Northeast with her 5th goal of the season.  Carmen Kager assisted on the McElmeel score.

The lone second-half tally came on Hallissey's 10th goal with an assist from Ellie Priest.

The Warriors had 20 shots, eight of them by Brandi Menephee, who leads the team with 11 goals, one more than Hallissey.

Goalkeeper Emily Sands made four saves in posting the shutout.

Indian Hills is now 7-2-1 and heads to Kansas City to take on MCC-Maple Woods on Tuesday.
