IHCC Women Blank Iowa Lakes

WSOC-Iowa Lakes

Spencer, Iowa -- Indian Hills picked up a conference road win on Saturday, shutting out Iowa Lakes, 3-0.

Megan McElmeel got the Warriors on the scoreboard with her 7th goal of the season just eight minutes into the opening half.

McElmeel's unassisted goal was the only score of the first 56 minutes before Taylor Hiatt doubled the IHCC advantage with a goal that was assisted by Laura Hallissey and Allie Schaefer.  It was Hiatt's 4th goal.  With around a minute remaining in the game Charlyann Pizzarello got her 4th goal, with assists from McElmeel and Molly Kellar, to close out the scoring.

There was a huge discrepancy in shots on goal -- IHCC had 23 and the Lakers only four.

Indian Hills and Iowa Lakes had played to a 2-2 tie earlier in the season.  This win moves the Warriors' conference record to 5-1-1 and overall mark to 9-2-1 heading into a non-league road match at Parkland College in Champaign, Ill., on Tuesday.
