Ottumwa -- Indian Hills used Molly Kellar's first-half goal against Iowa Central on Wednesday to move on to a berth in the Region XI postseason championship game this weekend.  Kellar, a freshman forward, scored on a rebound with 17 1/2 minutes left in the opening half and the stout Warrior defense, led by goalkeeper Emily Sands, made that goal stand up as Indian Hills advances to the title game for the second year in a row.

Sands made seven saves in all, with six of them coming in the final half as she repeatedly kept the Tritons from tying the score.  It was the second time this season Sands shut out Iowa Central, a team IHCC had never beaten before blanking them, 3-0, on Oct. 16.

Taylor Hiatt was credited with an assist on the Kellar goal, which was her first of the season.

For the second consecutive season Indian Hills and Iowa Western will battle for the posteason trophy and a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament.  The Warriors will try to avenge a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Reivers in last year's title match.  The game is set for 3:00 Saturday afternoon in Cownie Sports Complex in Des Moines.  It will follow the men's championship match which also has Indian Hills squaring off against Iowa Western.
