WARRIORS REMAIN UNBEATEN, TOP LAKERS 2-0

Spencer, IA – Sophomores Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington) and Risa Ogasawara (Yokohama, Japan/Hinomoto) each scored a goal for No. 6 Indian Hills Women's Soccer to lead the Warriors to a 2-0 road victory at Iowa Lakes Community College on Saturday.

The prolific scoring duo of Wiemann and Ogasawara tallied a goal in each half to pace the Warriors. Wiemann's goal came just over 13 minutes into the match as Makayla Reed (Waverly, IA/Waverly-Shell Rock) threaded a through ball past the defense to give Wiemann her team-leading 21st goal of the season.

Ogasawara provided the insurance goal in the final minutes of the match after collecting a loose ball in the box and firing a one-timer into the back of the net. Ogasawara's goal was the 13th of the season for the sophomore.

The tandem of Wiemann and Ogasawara have combined for 92 points on the season with 34 goals and 24 assists, the highest combined totals among teammates in the nation. Both players rank in the top-five nationally in total points.

Freshman Trisha Westphal (Lockridge, IA/Fairfield) recorded five saves in the match to tally her 14th win of the season. The Warriors have now recorded 10 shutouts on the season, tied for the best mark in the nation.

The win moved the Warriors to 15-0-0 on the year and 4-0-0 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play. The 15 wins are one shy of tying the program record for victories in a season, set in 2016.

Next up for Indian Hills is a date with conference foe Iowa Western Community College, ranked No. 8 in the latest national poll. The Warriors edged the Reivers 3-1 in the team's previous meeting in Ottumwa on Sept. 25. The two teams will square off Oct. 13 at 1:00 PM in Council Bluffs, IA.
