PRINCE'S GOAL POWERS WARRIORS TO 1-0 WIN

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Sage Prince (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic Secondary) buried a second half goal to lead the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Wabash Valley Community College (IL) at home on Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors improve to 3-1-2 on the year.

The win gives Indian Hills its third consecutive win over Wabash Valley after defeating the Warriors twice last season. The Warriors, ranked No. 19 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, have now won two games in a row and have allowed just one goal over the team's last three matches.

Prince recorded her third goal of the season in the 55th minute for the game's lone score of the afternoon. The sophomore received a cross from the right side from the foot of teammate Maika Nchana (Barcelona, Spain/INS Torras I Bages). Prince fired a shot on net that was initially stopped by the Wabash Valley keeper, but Prince was able to corral the rebound and find the back of the net.

Prince has now scored three goals in the team's last two contests. The sophomore ranks first on the team with seven points through the team's first six matches.

Sophomore Sarah Cogoli (Erbusco, Italy/IIS Luigi Einaudi) made her first start of the season and stopped three shots to pick up the victory. Cogoli now ranks fourth all-time with five career shutouts for the Warriors.

As a team, the Warriors outshot Wabash Valley 14-4, including a 7-3 shots on goal advantage. Indian Hills totaled five corner kicks while Wabash Valley did not attempt a corner.

The Warriors now turn their attention to September 9 when Indian Hills welcomes Iowa Lakes Community College to Ottumwa for a 1:00 PM matchup.
