Warriors Outlast Jefferson

IHCC-Jefferson volleyball

Hillsboro, Missouri -- Indian Hills kept its winning streak alive in a tense five-set match with Jefferson College on Friday night.  The teams each won two of the first four sets by identical scores of 25-22 and 25-21 with the Warriors taking sets one and three and Jefferson winning sets two and four.  The match, then, came down to the fifth set, which IHCC won 15-10.

It was the second time already this season IHCC has beaten Jefferson 3-2; they edged the Vikings in the Iowa Western tournament last month.

Indian Hills had three players with double-digit kill totals led by Brooke Johnson-Watkins with 12.  Both Thayna Birimba and Jessica DaSilva chipped in 10 kills as the Warriors won their 9th straight match and their 10th overall in 12 tries.

Freshman setter Yasmin Assis had 32 assists and sophomore Camila Nicoletti provided a team-high 17 digs.

The Warriors are idle until taking on region rival Iowa Western at the Hellyer Center next Wednesday night.
