Warrior Netters Sweep Past Marshalltown

IHCC-Marshalltown VB

Marshalltown, Iowa -- The Indian Hills volleyball team, ranked 16th in this week's NJCAA DI poll, tuned up for this weekend's TJC Invite, hosted by Tyler Junior College, with a 3-0 win over Marshalltown CC in a conference match on Wednesday night.  The Warriors rolled in the first set, 25-8, then finished off the Tigers by scores of 25-28 and 25-19.

Indian Hills came out on fire and blistered MCC in the opening set.  The Tigers didn't take their first lead until an ace serve in the second set put them up 14-13.  But IHCC used a 7-1 run to end that set and the Warriors were never in serious trouble in set three.

Camila Nicoletti led IHCC at the net with 10 kills and Jessica Da Silva had nine.  Brooke Johnson-Watkins had three blocks.  Indian Hills had six aces and the Tigers none and MCC didn't help its chances with 10 service errors.

The Warriors are now 16-6 and will be tested this weekend, taking on a ranked Panola team that just lost to Tyler in a five-setter on Wednesday night as well as a couple of strong teams in Tyler and Missouri State-West Plains.
