Women's Volleyball Sophomore Night

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills, playing its next-to-last home match of the season on Monday night, fought off a determined effort in the first set by visiting Ellsworth CC, then cruised to its 25th victory with a clean sweep of the Panthers.  IHCC won 25-16, 25-12, 25-10 on Sophomore Night at the Hellyer Center with the team's six sophs honored before the action got underway.

Ellsworth was within 20-16 in set one before the Warriors ran off five points in a row to finish the set.  The next two sets weren't that close as IHCC dominated play.

Camila Nicoletti, one of the IHCC sophs, led with 17 kills and had four ace serves.  Sophomore Yelyzaveta Sharkova had five of the squad's dozen ace serves and paced IHCC with nine digs.  Brooke Johnson-Watkins had three blocks as Indian Hills pushed its season record to 25-13.

The Warriors end their home slate on Thursday afternoon when they entertain Northeast CC at 3:00.
