NO. 11 WARRIORS WIN 11TH STRAIGHT

Ottumwa, IA – No. 11 Indian Hills Volleyball rolled to a three-set sweep of visiting Marshalltown Community College in the team's first Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) contest of the year. The Warriors improve to 12-1 on the year.

Playing in front of its home crowd for the first time since August 24, the Warriors controlled Wednesday's match from the opening jump. Indian Hills claimed the sweep in straight sets – 25-20, 25-12, and 25-15.

Jenna Vallee (Pornichet, France/Lycee Aristide Briand) led the way in the opening set for the Warriors, posting four kills in 16 attempts. Indian Hills picked up the pace in set two, hitting .238 as a team, led by three kills from Brooke Amann (Woodstock, IL/South Dakota State). The team's best performance, both offensively and defensively, came in the closing set as the Warriors totaled five blocks and a .333 hitting percentage.

Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Iowa State) led the Warriors with a team-high nine kills, the freshman's second-best mark of the season. Vallee added eight kills and Jarolin de los Santos (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Luis Munoz Rivera) contributed six kills.

Sophomore Anja Vranic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sports Gymnasium) stepped into the setter role for the Warriors on Wednesday and put together an all-around strong performance. The sophomore tallied 30 assists, nine digs and a pair of aces.

Next up for the Warriors is their biggest challenge of the season as top-ranked and defending National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball National Champions Iowa Western Community College comes to town on Sept. 22. Match time is set for 7:00 PM at the Hellyer Center.
