WARRIORS TAKE TOP HONORS TO OPEN 2022

Ottawa, KS – The No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team returned to action in dominant fashion on Saturday, winning the EZ Flex Invitational hosted by Ottawa University. The Warriors brought home four first-place finishes.

Competing for the first time in 2022, the Warriors traveled to the five-team invitational in Kansas. The Warriors served as the lone junior college representative as Saturday's invitational featured three NAIA programs and an NCAA DIII squad.

Freshman Gracie Reyes (McAllen, TX/PSJA Southwest) took home first in the 101lb weight class. Returning national champion Chloe Clemons (Center Point, IA/Pleasant Valley) took home top honors in the 109lb weight class. Freshman Lynexa Adams (Willard, MO/Willard) finished first in the 170lb weight class and returning national champion Sofia Rubio (Tempe, AZ/Marco De Niza) was the top placer in the 191lb weight class.

Additional Warriors to place Saturday included Jamesa Robinson (Minneapolis, MN/Patrick Henry) and Heaven-Leigh Jackson (Brooksville, FL/Hernando) who finished second and third respectively in the 123lb weight class. Angelique Torres (Kissimmee, FL/Gateway) finished second in the 130lb weight class and Celeste Tellez (McAllen, TX/McAllen) was the second-place finisher in the 143lb weight class.

The Warriors return home to host Central Methodist University at 7:00 PM Tuesday night in the Multi-Purpose building on the Indian Hills Centerville campus. Central Methodist finished third at Saturday's EZ Flex Invitational.
