MICKENS NAMED ICCAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Centerville, IA – Sophomore Javanica Mickens (Orlando, FL/Jones) scored a key dual win for the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team to earn Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Women's Wrestling Athlete of the Week honors.

In a conference matchup featuring the top two teams in the nation, Indian Hills and Iowa Central Community College squared off in Fort Dodge, IA on Wednesday night with first-place implications on the line. In the second match of the night, Mickens took on the No. 2 ranked individual in the nation Dianna Pineda in the 109lb dual. Mickens needed just 2:04 of mat time to score a critical first round fall for the Warriors.

The Warriors carried the momentum from Mickens' fall to cruise to a 32-18 victory over the Tritons to improve to 3-0 in the ICCAC and 4-0 in duals this year.

With the win, Mickens remained undefeated in ICCAC duals this year, moving to 3-0 while picking up her second consecutive fall in league action.

Next up for the Warriors is the team's final home dual of the first half of the season on December 10 as Indian Hills welcomes Trinidad State College (CO) to the Multi-Purpose Building as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Action gets underway at 2:30 PM.
