NJCAA WOMEN'S WRESTLING INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS - WEEK ONE
Centerville, IA – The top-ranked women's wrestling team in the nation boasted 16 individuals in the first regular season rankings as the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team asserted itself as the No. 1 team in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The Warriors claimed the most individual rankings in the nation with the 16 honorees across 10 different weight classes. Indian Hills saw multiple individual selections in five different weight classes, including three individuals in the 235lb division.
Indian Hills saw a pair of individuals take the No. 1 spot in their respective weight class as sophomore Tiffany White (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park & River Forest) climbed to No. 1 in the 191lb weight class while Eliana Bommarito (Hartland, MI/Brighton) held steady at No. 1 in the 235lb class.
Six diffrent individuals checked in at No. 2 in their respective weight class, including sophomore Javanica Mickens (Orlando, FL/Jones), this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week who soared to No. 2 in the 109lb weight class after knocking off the previous No. 2 ranked wrestler in the nation.
Amaria Ridgner (Richton Park, IL/Rich Township) made her first appearance in the national rankings after a strong start to her freshman campaign. Ridgner checked in at No. 5 in the 130lb weight class. Fellow freshman Genesis Gilmore (Clarksville, TN/Montgomery Central) has gotten off to an impressive start in her collegiate debut and climbed four spots to No. 3 in the latest 155lb national rankings. Ja'nya Banks (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs) also made her first apperance in the national rankings, checking in at No. 8 in the 155lb bracket.
Along with the Warriors' 16 individuals in the national rankings, the team was also claimed the top spot in the first regular season team ranking, announced Wednesday.

The Warriors return home this weekend to host Trinidad State College (CO) in a nonconference dual at the Multi-Purpose Building in Centerville as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Action gets underway at 2:30 PM.
