Ottumwa, IA – Indian Hills Community College has announced the Class of 2024 inductees to the Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame. This year's class is made up of two individuals and one team along with a pair of individuals that will receive the prestigious Lifetime Contribution Award.

This year's class features former Indian Hills Softball standout Tracee Collins, the 1974 Indian Hills Football team, and former Indian Hills Men's Soccer star Akean Shackleford. Along with the three members of the Hall of Fame class, longtime Indian Hills Athletics supporters Morris Frisbie and Bill Hansen will receive the Lifetime Contribution Award.

The 2024 Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on the weekend of Friday and Saturday, February 2-3 with the official induction at halftime of the Indian Hills Men's Basketball game against Marshalltown Community College at 7:00 PM on February 3.

Tracee Collins – Softball, 1995-1997

One of the most dominant pitchers in an era of unrivaled success for the Warrior softball program, Collins left her mark over the span of two seasons. A two-time NJCAA All-American, Collins led the Warriors to back-to-back regional and district championships and two national tournament appearances, including a seventh-place finish in 1996.

Collins left the Warrior program with more than 12 school records in the circle, including three that still stand to this day – single season wins (29), career wins (54), and complete games (53). Collins, who also earned a pair of wins at the national tournament for the Warriors, ranks in the top-five in school history in five additional categories.

Following her time at Indian Hills where the program won more than 86 percent of its games, Collins completed her collegiate career at William Penn University where she still ranks in the top-10 in school history with a 1.48 earned run average.

A native of Des Moines, IA, Collins becomes the 17th individual from the Warrior softball program to be inducted into the Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame.

1974 Football Team

The 1974 Indian Hills Football team capped an era of remarkable success for the Golden Falcons. The last team to ever suit up on the gridiron at Indian Hills, the team posted the first and only undefeated regular season in program history and finished the year ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA national rankings.

Led by head coach Jim Spry in his second season at the helm, the Warriors ran through the 1974 campaign with an unblemished 10-0 record while allowing only 37 points during the regular season. Ranked No. 2 in the final national poll, the Golden Falcons were awarded a bid to the prestigious Wool Bowl in Roswell, NM against Mesa Junior College (AZ).

The Golden Falcons garnered three All-American honors following the 1974 season in wide receiver Percy McBride, defensive end Lorenzo Turner, and offensive guard Matt Cumberworth. Freshman fullback Gary Muhlbauer eclipsed the 1,000 yard rushing milestone.

The 1974 team proved to be the final season of competition for Indian Hills Football, cementing itself as the most accomplished team in school history.

Seven former Indian Hills Football players and coaches have been inducted into the Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame.

Akean Shackleford – Men's Soccer, 2016-18

Akean Shackleford secured his name as the most decorated individual in Indian Hills Men's Soccer history. The first All-American in program history, Shackleford sits atop the men's soccer record book by a wide margin in numerous offensive categories. The striker earned two NJCAA All-American honors and was tapped as the ICCAC Player of the Year in 2017.

Shackleford helped guide the Warriors to their first national tournament appearance in school history in 2017 after an illustrious career that resulted in 29 victories. Shackleford holds the top two individual season records in goals and points while his 55 career goals and 120 career points are more than double the next closest individual in each category. Shackleford also owns the most single season and career game-winning goals, most single season and career shots, and the most points and goals in a single game.

Following his career at Indian Hills, Shackleford completed his collegiate career with a season at both Southern Methodist University and Lindsey Wilson University. The Warrior alum has also been instrumental in organizing the annual Indian Hills Men's Soccer Alumni match each August.

A native of Savanna-la-Mar, Jamaica, Shackleford becomes the first Indian Hills Men's Soccer player to be inducted into the Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame.

Morris Frisbie, Bill Hansen – Lifetime Contribution Award

Two individuals that are synonymous with Indian Hills Athletics, Morris Frisbie and Bill Hansen have contributed more than 40 years of volunteer service to the Indian Hills Athletic Department spread across numerous sports.

From scorekeepers, to public address announcers, to scoreboard operators, Frisbie and Hansen have long been staples at Indian Hills Athletic events, both home and on the road, including trips to national tournaments for Warrior athletic programs.

While both have served countless volunteer hours to the Indian Hills Athletic Department, the two longtime friends are both honorary members of the Indian Hills Trailblazer Club, a group of Indian Hills retirees that contribute to the mission of Indian Hills Community College. Frisbie previously served as a Computer Networking Instructor at Indian Hills while Hansen served as the Assistant Registrar and Director of Veteran Affairs.

Frisbie and Hansen become the seventh and eighth individuals in Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame history to receive the Lifetime Contribution Award.
