Schilling Wins High Jump at Region XI Meet

Storm Lake, Iowa -- Shalandra Schilling's win in the high jump highlighted the Indian Hills women's squad's performance in the Region XI Championship at the Lamberti Recreation Center at Buena Vista University.

Schilling, a freshman, jumped 5'-1" to take the high jump competition.  She had the only first-place finish for the Warriors, but they had two 3rds - from Peyton Coffin in the 400 meters (1:00.74) and by Tyarra English-Paulson in the 60 meter hurdles (9.60).

English-Paulson picked up a 4th place in the 600 meters (1:43.99) and a 5th in the 200 (25.86).  According to the IHCC coaches, she is one of only three women nationally to reach the qualifying standard for next month's NJCAA Indoor Championships in the 200, 400 and 600 meters.

Indian Hills placed 5th out of the 6 conference schools in the Region XI meet, scoring 52 points.  Iowa Central won the team title.

Jashira Baylark, 5th in the 60 meter hurdles (9.89)

Taylor Mitchell, 6th in the 400 meters (1:04.58)

Ashlyn Elmore, 6th in the 800 meters (2:44.12)

Peyton Coffin, 8th in the 200 meters (27.14)

Matana Munday, 8th in the shot put (34'-3")

The Warriors have about two weeks to prepare for the NJCAA national indoor meet in Lubbock, Texas Mar. 2-3.
