WARRIORS COMPETE AT DRAKE, JANVRIN, LSU

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team was well represented at a series of events over the weekend with a number of impressive performances.

DRAKE RELAYS

The lone representative at the 113th running of the historic Drake Relays, sophomore Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Gilbert) placed second overall in the women's high jump invitational. The sophomore jumped to a mark of 1.68 meters after clearing each of her first three attempts. Hadley stood out in a 17-athlete field comprised of four-year university participants.

LSU INVITATIONAL

Adalin Robinson (Riverdale, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt) traveled to Baton Rouge, LA with the Warriors to take part in the premiere LSU Invitational against a number of powerhouse NCAA DI programs. Robinson, who ranks second in school history in the women's 400-meter dash, posted a time of 56.84, just 0.66 seconds off her personal best mark.

Robinson also competed in the women's 200-meter dash for the Warriors and clocked in with a time of 24.98 to place 35th overall as the lone junior college participant in the event.

KIP JANVRIN OPEN

Eight different Warriors took on the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, IA for the two-day event at Buxton Stadium.

100-METER DASH

Freshman Jahzara Hart (Raleigh, NC/Southeast Raleigh) boasted an electrifying performance in the 100-meter dash, her first appearance in the event in the outdoor season. Hart placed third overall in the event with a time of 11.62, the fourth-fastest mark in the NJCAA this year. Hart was the top junior college finisher in the 40-athlete field.

Freshman Shanice Cox (Minneapolis, MN/Minneapolis South) posted the second-best mark of the year for the Warriors in the 100m with a time of 12:04 to place ninth overall. Mya Hippolyte (Dennery, St. Lucia/Micoud Secondary) and Zakiya Porter (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) both posted personal best times in the 100m as well with times of 12.37 and 12.41, respectively.

200-METER DASH

Cox was the top performer in the women's 200-meter dash on Thursday with a time of 24.45, the program's second-fastest mark of the year. Zaniya King (Ecorse, MI/River Rouge) added an eighth-place finish with a time of 24.87.

400-METER DASH

Jadashia Catlin (Palm Coast, FL/Matanzas) stood out for the Warriors in the 400m dash as the top junior college finisher with an 11th place showing. Catlin posted a time of 59.22, just 0.09 seconds off a personal best performance.

800-METER RUN

Sophomore Lizeth Flores (Harvard, IL/Harvard) competed in the women's 800-meter event for the Warriors and posted a time of 2:35.04, a season-best effort as well as the team's top time in the event this year.

Next up for the Warriors is the 2023 NJCAA Region XI Outdoor Championship May 5-7 in Council Bluffs, IA.
