Coffin's School Record Leads Women's Squad at CMU Open

Fayette, Missouri - It was a frigid afternoon at the Central Methodist University Open track and field meet but that did not stop sophomore Peyton Coffin from shining.

Coffin broke her previous outdoor school record in the 400m, winning the event in a personal best time of 1:00.58. Coffin doubled up in the 200m dash, crossing the line in 5th place in 27.41 seconds. National qualifier, Shalandra Shilling competed in the 100m and high jump. Shilling finished 18th in the 100m, crossing the line in 14.14 seconds.

Ashlyn Elmore led the way for the women's distance crew. Elmore ran the 1,500m, placing 21st in 6:00.97. Matana Munday had a successful day in the ring, finishing 8th in the discus (36.10m) and 9th in the shot put (10.20m), both school records.

A few Warriors will head to the Grand View Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday, March 24th. The full squad will open up at Central College in Pella, Iowa on Friday, March 30th.
