Women's Track & Field Team Competes at Central College Weather Saver Invitational

Pella, Iowa-- With an undesirable weekend forecast looming ahead, a short-handed Warrior track and field team decided to head to Central College on Thursday, March 5th for the Central College Weather Saver Invitational.

Peyton Coffin rewrote the record books once again. The sophomore from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa competed in the 100m and 400m. Coffin finished 5th in the 100m dash in a new school record time of 13.26 before going on to break her 400m school record for the third consecutive meet. Coffin demolished her previous school record by 2.5 seconds, running 58.11 for the victory.

 Ashlyn Elmore crossed the finish line in 9th place in the 800m run with a time of 2:46.73.

 Shalandra Shilling was the lone Warrior woman to compete in the field events. Shilling took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.50m.

 The women's track and field team will compete next at the Jim Duncan Invitational at Drake University on Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th where 3x national qualifier, Tyarra English-Paulson will open up her outdoor campaign.
