UNDEFEATED WARRIORS HOLD STRONG AT NO. 1

NJCAA WOMEN'S WRESTLING TEAM RANKINGS - WEEK ONE

Centerville, IA – An undefeated run through the opening month of action kept the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team atop the national rankings as the Warriors checked in at No. 1 in the first regular season National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Wrestling poll.

The Warriors are off to a 4-0 start in duals this year, including a 3-0 mark in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Indian Hills has secured wins over then-No. 5 Carl Albert State College (OK), then-No. 6 Iowa Western Community College, and then-No. 2 Iowa Central Community College. Indian Hills received 150 points from the committee in this week's poll.

Umpqua Community College (OR), Iowa Central, Iowa Western, and Carl Albert round out the top-five.

In addition to the Warriors' No. 1 team rank, Indian Hills claimed 16 spots in the individual national rankings.

Indian Hills, who has defeated each of its dual opponents by double-digits this year remains the lone undefeated team in the ICCAC, outscoring its three league foes 120-36. The Warriors have also posted strong showings in a pair of opens in the opening month – the Luther Hill Invitational in Indianola, IA and the Doane Conner/Oppenheim Open in Crete, NE.

The Warriors return home this weekend to host Trinidad State College (CO) in a nonconference dual at the Multi-Purpose Building in Centerville as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Action gets underway at 2:30 PM.
