Sophomore Dymonde Nave of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team has been named the February Indian Hills Hy-Vee Female Student-Athlete of the Month.
Nave has put together a remarkable start to her sophomore campaign with a strong showing throughout the indoor track & field season for the Warriors. Throughout the month of February, Nave captured three individual titles in the 60-meter hurdles, including a first-place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Indoor Track & Field Championships. For her efforts, Nave was named to the NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team.
Nave also added a school record performance to open the month at the Washburn Invite. Nave broke her own program mark with a program record 8.43 in the 60m hurdles to place first overall. Nave also added top honors at the Ichabod Invitational two weeks later.
Nave carried the momentum over into the month of March with an impressive national runner-up performance in the 60m hurdles at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Lubbock, TX.
Each month, with the support of the local Ottumwa Hy-Vee, the Indian Hills Athletic Department selects a male and female student-athlete of the month based on their academic and athletic performances throughout the previous month. Fans can catch interviews of each student-athlete from Ottumwa's South Hy-Vee on the GoHillsTV Facebook Page.
