The baseball complex at Indian Hills Community College has seen a number of significant changes over the years. Today, it is one of the top baseball facilities in the Midwest.
Pat Daugherty Field's facelift has included additions such as the construction of a concession stand, press box and restrooms. New bullpens were built and many other improvements were made.
A brand new scoreboard was added beyond the centerfield fence. The grandstand behind home plate gives Pat Daugherty Field the feel of an old-time ballpark. New pro spec lights were installed. Six 100-foot steel poles with close to 100 state-of-the-art fixtures and bulbs light up the park as well as most professional ballparks. A full-field tarp protects the playing surface. The Warriors have many of the luxuries of a professional baseball club.
The expansive indoor facility located in the IHCC Multi-Purpose Building underwent a renovation in 2016. It provides the Warriors a chance to hone their skills throughout the winter months prior to the start of the spring season. Here the players have a pro-style clubhouse, four indoor batting cages with pitching machines, four indoor mounds, a complete weight room and laundry facilities. The facility added turf during this renovation making it one of the nicest indoor baseball facilities in all of junior college baseball.
The Hitting Center is another of the additions to the outstanding facilities at Pat Daugherty Field. This is a 32' x 90' hitting area which has three fully turfed cages. The Hitting Center, adjacent to the playing field, is a covered facility with indoor lighting that allows the Warriors to take batting practice under any conditions. The structure is modeled after facilities that can be found at major league spring training sites.
One of the latest improvements at Pat Daugherty Field is the addition of 350 permanent chair-back seats to the grandstand. Former IHCC players and boosters have contributed to the renovation with their names placed on a donor recognition plaque on the seats. These seats were installed in the spring of 2011 and further add to the beauty of the baseball complex. A new fence was installed prior to the 2013 spring season, stretching from the home dugout all the way around to the third base dugout. A new scoreboard was installed prior to the 2018 spring season.
