Indian Hills Community College offers men and women the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate competition through a wide variety of sports. IHCC has 19 athletic teams. The basketball, comeptitive cheer & dance, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball teams are based on the Ottumwa Campus and the baseball and men's and women's wrestling squad practice and compete on the Centerville Campus.

One of the premiere junior colleges in the nation over the past four decades, Indian Hills Community College has captured more than 30 team and individual national championships, including seven team titles for the men's golf program, four consecutive women's wrestling national championships, and an unprecedented three consecutive men's basketball national titles. Indian Hills has claimed more than 400 athletic All-Americans as well as hundreds of academic and scholar awards over the years. The college is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
