45 STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – 45 Indian Hills student-athletes have received prestigious academic honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as the national office released its NJCAA All-Academic Team selections on Monday.

10 Warrior athletic programs were represented on the NJCAA All-Academic teams, led by 12 individuals from both the baseball and softball teams. The women's soccer program collected seven individual honors while four individuals from both the track and field and volleyball programs were recognized.

To earn NJCAA All-Academic honors, individual student-athletes are awarded first-team status with a 4.0 GPA throughout the academic year. Second-team honorees consist of student-athletes with a GPA of 3.80 to 3.99, while third-team recipients posted a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

"Our student-athletes continue to reach new heights both academically and athletically, and that is evident on the NJCAA All-Academic teams," stated Brett Monaghan, Indian Hills Vice President, Student Development & Operations and Athletic Director. "We congratulate all of our student-athletes on another exceptional year at Indian Hills."

12 Warrior student-athletes earned first-team honors, including seven freshmen. 14 student-athletes earned second-team honors while 19 individuals earned third-team status.

Of the 26 sophomores recognized, 15 are repeat NJCAA All-Academic selections after earning the honor as freshman in 2020-21. Three members of the women's soccer team – Kylee Brown, Rachel Kaut, and Hope Ward completed their academic career at Indian Hills with two consecutive NJCAA All-Academic First-Team honors.

Four individuals earned the distinct honor of earning both NJCAA All-Academic and NJCAA All-American honors for their success both on the field and in the classroom - Frank Vucic (men's golf), Haleigh Hadley (track & field), Precious Daley (volleyball), and Bailey Wiemann (women's soccer).

*NJCAA All-Academic selections are reserved for only NJCAA sanctioned sports.
