Centerville, IA – The Third Annual Indian Hills Baseball/Wrestling Banquet is set for Thursday, October 12 at Bessie's Barn in Centerville, IA.

The annual event serves as an opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of the Indian Hills Baseball and Men's and Women's Wrestling programs while connecting with the student-athletes as they prepare to enter a new season of competition in Centerville. This year's banquet will be headlined by Centerville native and Iowa Wrestling Hall of Famer Chad Zaputil.

The women's wrestling program is coming off a season that saw the Warriors capture their third consecutive national title, and first at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) level. Under head coach Cole Spree, the Warriors collected 17 All-Americans and four individual national champions.

The men's wrestling program once again placed in the top-10 at the national tournament after another dominant season in the ultra-competitive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Spree ad the Warriors placed third overall at the NJCAA North Central District and ninth overall at nationals.

The Indian Hills Baseball squad is coming off its second NJCAA Region 11 Championship in the past two seasons under head coach Matt Torrez while advancing to the NJCAA Midwest District Championship.

One of the most prominent wrestlers in Iowa history, Zaputil will serve as this year's keynote speaker at the event. Zaputil was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2022 after a standout high school and collegiate career. Zaputil captured two state championships as a member of the Centerville Big Reds, going 95-1 over his final three seasons before embarking on a collegiate career at the University of Iowa. Zaputil was a three-time Big 10 champion, three-time All-American, and three-time NCAA finalist while helping the team win three NCAA National Championships.
