Fascia's Hit Caps Another Winning Rally

Centerville -- For the third time in the last four days the Indian Hills Falcons pulled off a final-inning rally, this time overcoming an early five-run deficit and plating three runs in the 9th inning, the game-winner driven in by Zachary Fascia, to defeat Ellsworth CC, 7-6, at Pat Daugherty Field on Wednesday.

The comeback win follows similar victories against Southwestern last Sunday and Iowa Central on Tuesday and will, hopefully, provide IHCC with some momentum heading into its weekend series with Iowa Western.

They trailed Ellsworth 5-0 until Joshmar Doran connected for a two-run home run in the 6th inning. It was 5-2 before Indian Hills scored twice in the 8th inning. A potential tying run was gunned down at the plate.

Ellsworth got a solo homer in the top of the 9th to make it a two-run game. But the Falcons put together another rally with Lane Harvey tying the score with a two-run hit and then scoring on Fascia's single.

The win pushes IHCC's record to 27-11. They are 18-5 over the last 23 games and will host league-leading Iowa Western in a four-game series at home this Saturday and Sunday.
