Baseball Instructional Camp in February

Baseball Camp

Centerville -- Indian Hills baseball coach Cam Walker has set Feb. 17 and 18 as the dates for the winter instructional camp that will be conducted by the IHCC coaching staff.  The camp will take place in the indoor baseball facility in the Multipurpose Building on the Centerville campus.

There will be personalized instruction from coach Walker, his assistants, Steve Kletke and Jordan Camp, as well as current Indian Hills players.  The camp is for players of any age and will be divided into two days.

A pitching and catching session will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17.  Youngsters 12 and under will attend from 9:00 to 11:30 that morning; those ages 13 and older will go from 1:00 to 3:30 in the afternoon.

The next day, Sunday, Feb. 18, the emphasis will be on hitting.  The Sunday sessions will be the same as the previous day – those under the age of 12 will go from 9 to 11:30, and those 13 and older will have their instruction from 1 to 3:30.

The sessions will provide pitching and hitting fundamentals and drills.  There will be camp t-shirts in addition to the instruction.

"We'll show the campers techniques they can practice to improve their skills on their own after the camp is over," said Walker.

The fee to attend is $60 for one session or $110 for both days.

Registration can be done in advance, either online at www.indianhills.edu/baseballcamp or by phone at 641-895-3588.  Further information can be obtained by calling coach Walker at that phone number.
