WARRIORS DROP SERIES OPENER TO NO. 17 TIGERS

Arkansas City, KS – The Indian Hills Baseball team suffered an 8-0 loss to No. 17 Cowley College (KS) on the road Saturday afternoon. The Warriors drop to 5-4 on the year.

The Warrior offense managed just two base hits on the afternoon, including a knock from sophomore Daniel Figueroa (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Leadership Christian Academy). With the hit, Figueroa extended his hitting streak to seven games, the second-longest of his Indian Hills career.

Freshman Luis Martinez (Vega Baja, PR/El Shaddai Christian Academy) added the team's only other hit of the afternoon.

Freshmen Lou Levy (Highlands Ranch, CO/Mountain Vista) and Tomoki Jitsukawa (Tokyo, Japan/Tokai Sapporo) provided 4.1 innings of relief work on the mound for the Warriors. The duo slowed the Tiger offense to just two runs on three hits during the closing frames.

Indian Hills and Cowley will square off for a doubleheader Sunday afternoon with first pitch slated for 12:00 PM from the Cowley Baseball Facility.
