NELSON LANDS FIFTH CAREER ICCAC HONOR

Centerville, IA – For the fourth time this season and third time in the last four weeks, sophomore Jack Nelson (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville Community) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Nelson, who was also named last week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week, has now collected five ICCAC DI Pitcher of the Week honors throughout his career.

In Nelson's lone appearance last week, the southpaw went the distance for a complete game conference victory over Northeast Community College (NE). Nelson struck out 12 batters with just one walk issued in a 13-3 victory over the Hawks. The sophomore scattered four hits for his second complete game conference win of the year.

With the 12 strikeouts, Nelson surpassed the career 100-strikeout milestone. Nelson has punched out 55 batters on the year, tops in the ICCAc.

Over his last four outings, Nelson has struck out 41 batters in 23 innings of work. Nelson has won four consecutive starts and is now 5-2 on the year with a 3.16 earned run average.
