WARRIORS COMPETING IN COLLEGIATE SUMMER LEAGUES

Centerville, IA – Current and former Indian Hills Baseball standouts are competing across the world in summer leagues in preparation for the 2023-24 collegiate season. See where a number of student-athletes are competing this summer and how to keep up with their success on the diamond.

Nicholas Brainerd  |  Sedalia Bombers (MINK League)

Brainerd is suiting up fort he Bombers of the MINK League which features teams from both Missouri and Iowa throughout the summer. Brainerd and the Bombers are currently in second place in the South division.

Parker Bulthuis  |  UVV Head Class (Netherlands)

Bulthuis is back on the diamond in his native Netherlands competing in the head class and has caught nine games behind the plate for UVV.

JJ Dutton  |  Toronto Maple Leafs (Canada Intercounty Baseball League)

After missing the 2023 campaign for the Warriors, Dutton is back on the diamond this summer and has helped the Maple Leads to second place in the IBL. Dutton is batting .333 at the plate with 10 RBI through 15 team games.

Toronto Maple Leafs GM Jeff Lounsbury on Dutton: "Dutton is fully healthy and will get a chance to showcase his talents this summer. He has speed, power and a great future. He is part of the young talent from Toronto that we are trying to ease into the IBL and hopefully become household names to the Leaf fanbase."

Adam Golby  |  Medicine Hat Mavericks (Western Canadian Baseball League)

Through 21 games so far this year, Gobly leads the Mavericks with four starts on the year. The All-Region 11 selection last year for the Warriors, Golby has tossed 16.1 innings with 12 strikeouts.

Andrei Gordeev  |  Catawba Valley Stars (Coastal Plains League)

Gordeev made a splash in his most recent outing for the Stars on June 16, tossing a five inning gem, allowing just one earned run while striking out four in a 3-1 victory. In 13.1 innings this summer, Gordeev has struck out 14 batters and has picked up two wins. 

Sam Hart  |  La Crosse Loggers (Northwoods League)

Participating in one of the premiere summer collegiate leagues, Hart is tied for the team lead with seven appearances and has earned a win and a save on the year while striking out 13 batters in 11.2 innings. Hart, bound for the University of Iowa next year, was recently named the High Energy Player of the Game after tossing 4.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

Thomas Maathuis  |  HCAW Head Class (Netherlands)

Maathuis is off to a strong start in the summer in his native Netherlands. Maathuis is currently batting .333 with an .846 OPS.

Tijmen Nagel  |  DSS Head Class (Netherlands)

After missing the 2023 season, Nagel is set to return to the Warriors and is competing in the Hoofdklasse Honkbal, the same league as both Maathuis and Bulthuis.

Dylan Sayles  |  Rockford Prospects (Chicago Metro League)

Sayles, an All-Region pick last season for the Warriors, is batting .333 at the plate with a .474 on-base percentage six games for the Prospects.
