HUEBNER, PACE SWEEP ICCAC HONORS

Centerville, IA – The Indian Hills Baseball team swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors after a big week on the diamond. Freshmen Zachari Pace (Colorado Springs, CO/Vista Ridge) and Cole Huebner (Edmonton, Alberta/Strathcona) were tapped by the conference office for the weekly honors.

The duo helped lead Indian Hills to a 5-1 record last week as the Warriors played in front of its home crowd for the first time this season. Pace powered the offense to pick up ICCAC DI Baseball Offensive Player of the Week honors while Huebner's effective outing on the mound garnered ICCAC DI Baseall Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Pace continued to thrive at the plate for the Warriors and put together a balanced attack at the plate last week. Through the six games, Pace batted .409 with a pair of triples and his first-career home run. The freshman outfielder delivered six RBI and eight runs scored.

Pace's signature moment of the week came when the freshman delivered an extra inning walk-off RBI single against St. Cloud Technical & Community College (MN) to lead the Warriors to an 8-7 win on Saturday.

On the year, Pace is batting .340 for the Warriors with 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, and five stolen bases. The freshman has reached base safely in 11 of the team's last 12 contests.

On the bump, Huebner was dominant in the series opener vs. St. Cloud on Friday night. The freshman hurler allowed just two hits and did not see a batters advance past second pass in five innings of work. Huebner struck out a season-high eight batters in the victory to move to 2-1 on the year.

The solid outing helped lower Huebner's team-leading earned run average to 1.53 on the year. The righty also leads the Warriors with 23 strikeouts in four appearances this season.

The Warriors, who checked into the 'Others Receiving Votes' category in the national rankings on Monday, return to action for a three-game ICCAC series at Southwestern Community College this weekend, weather pending.
