GORDEEV EARNS SECOND ICCAC WEEKLY HONOR

Centerville, IA – Sophomore Andrei Gordeev (Balashika, Russia/Global Vision Christian) of the Indian Hills Men's Baseball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Gordeev has now captured two ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honors this year.

Gordeev put together an impressive performance on the mound for the Warriors in his lone outing last week. In a 4-3 win over Des Moines Area Community College on April 6, Gordeev went 5.2 innings without allowing a run. The right-handed hurler scatter four hits and struck out a career-high 11 batters as the Warriors pulled away late for the conference victory.

The Warriors have now won three consecutive starts by Gordeev, and six starts overall on the year as the sophomore's record sits at 4-2 this season. Gordeev leads the Warriors with 43 strikeouts this year and has now produced back-to-back scoreless starts.

Gordeev and the Warriors are back in action Wednesday afternoon for a 1:00 PM ICCAC matchup vs. Ellsworth Community College at Pat Daugherty Field in Centerville.
