NAGEL'S CAREER DAY NOT ENOUGH IN ICCAC LOSS

Cedar Rapids, IA – The Indian Hills Baseball team dropped a 10-4 decision to Kirkwood Community College in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) action on Wednesday. The Warriors move to 9-14 overall on the year and 3-3 in league play.

The Warriors fell behind early in Wednesday's tilt as the Eagles scored three runs in the bottom half of the first before building an 8-0 lead through five frames. Indian Hills chipped away at the deficit, including a pair of runs in the top of the ninth, but ultimately fell short on the road.

Sophomore Tijmen Nagel (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Roc Amsterdam) paced the offense with a career-high four hits, scoring a pair of runs while driving in another. Nagel tacked on a career-high three stolen bases in the loss.

Over his last nine contests, Nagel has hit safely in eight games, boasting a .432 batting average with five doubles, 10 RBI, and 10 runs scored.

Freshman Boris Rodriguez (San Sebastian, Puerto Rico/ESCAED) added a pair of hits on the day to aid in the Warriors' 10-hit attack.

Sophomore Owen Corbett (Oswego, IL/Oswego) delivered 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, striking out three batters for the Warriors while Evan Peterson (Longmont, CO/Mead) allowed just one hit and no runs in 1.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Indian Hills returns to action for a three-game series against Iowa Central Community College this weekend at Pat Daugherty Field. The two ICCAC clubs will square off for a single nine-inning affair on Friday at 3:00 PM followed by a twinbill at 12:00 PM on Saturday.
