Daniel Hargrave, a former two-year member of the Indian Hills Baseball program, joined the Warriors' coaching staff prior to the 2023 season as an Assistant Coach.

In his first campaign on the Warrior staff, Hargrave helped guide the Warriors to the 2023 NJCAA Region 11 Championship and a third-place finish in the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament.

"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to come back to where I grew up and play baseball and help the program and student-athletes in a positive way," stated Hargrave. "I am very lucky about the opportunity I have been given to learn from coach Torrez in any way I can so that I can expand my knowledge of the game."

Hargrave, a native of Centerville, joined the staff after completing his collegiate baseball career at Culver Stockton College (MO).

Hargrave competed for the Warriors during the 2019 and 2020 seasons as a righthanded pitcher. In two seasons, including the COVID-shortened campaign of 2020, Hargrave made 11 appearances on the mound and averaged 9.72 strikeouts per nine innings.

"We are very excited to add Daniel to our coaching staff," stated head coach Matthew Torrez. "He was part of our program my first two years here at Indian Hills and is originally from Centerville where they won a state championship his senior year. While he was a player here he was a natural leader, I feel this quality will be a great asset for him in his new role. What really excites me about Daniel is how people gravitate to him, this will be a huge asset with the community and our players."

At Culver Stockton, Hargrave made 24 appearances on the mound in his final two seasons, winning seven contests while striking out 88 batters in 120 innings of action.

Hargrave previously coached for the Centerville High School Big Reds where he helped guide the program to the Iowa 2A State Championship game in 2021. Hargrave played an instrumental role in developing athletes while organizing practice plans, conditioning and throwing programs, and fundraising initiatives.

Hargrave received his Associate of Arts degree from Indian Hills and his bachelor's degree from Culver Stockton.
